Home Theater Design, an expired domain
You followed a link to hometheaterdesignmag.com. That address once belonged to Home Theater Design, a web publication about home-theater rooms and interiors. Home Theater Guides registered the domain after it expired. We are not that publication, and we are not affiliated with it, its publisher, or its successors.
What Home Theater Design was
Archived pages show Home Theater Design publishing from 2008 into 2011 under Source Interlink Media, with features on dedicated theaters, themed rooms, seating, do-it-yourself builds and design by budget. In July 2011 its publisher announced that it had merged Home Theater Design into HomeTheater.com, which later became SoundandVision.com. For the publication’s own work, the Internet Archive and Sound & Vision are the places to look.
What registering the domain does not mean
- Home Theater Guides is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a successor to Home Theater Design, Source Interlink, Sound & Vision or its current publisher.
- We did not acquire or reproduce any of the publication’s articles, photos, names, logos or archives, and we don’t use “Home Theater Design” as the name of our site or anything we sell.
- We had no contact with the former publisher before registering the expired domain.
How old links are handled
A handful of old addresses lead to an independently written Home Theater Guides page on the same subject: features on dedicated and themed theaters and do-it-yourself builds lead to our basement and dedicated-room guide; seating, budget and shopping pieces to the matching parts of our setup guide; a listening-room piece to our acoustics guides. The old home page leads here. Everything else, including old images, returns “410 Gone”.
